Aug. 26, 2015

It was an interesting day with a crazy lightning storm bright and early that shook the windows and doors in the classroom. Then no rain. Then down pours. Finally, I can see the sun right now. Needless to say, it was an indoor recess at lunch, and most of our Terrific Third Graders enjoyed wondering, "Who Let the Dogs Out?"  (you can ask them to show you at home - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PUnymRe_ew)

Here's how our day unfolded:
- Science - played a review game for the Science quiz tomorrow
- LA - completed some proofreading and worked on the descriptive writing
- Math - worked on rounding numbers (see note in Announcements below)
- Reading - worked on some phonics and sentence structures
- Social - discussed laws and consequences, heard many stories from the students
- ECA - we practiced the earthquake drill that will happen on Friday

HOMEWORK:
1) Math text book p. 34, complete #'s 44-48, 54-56, 69-72, 74-77
2) Social workbook p. 5
3) Science quiz, please study Unit 1 - Investigating Questions

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
a) the Math quiz will be moved to MONDAY (we will not have the quiz on Friday as we need to practice rounding a little bit more)
b) a letter was sent home with more information regarding the spraying for mosquitoes on Friday
c) we have a box of medical masks in the classroom now, so if any student is coughing or feels sick, they can use the ones provided to us
