Jan. 6, 2016

Happy rainy/sunny/beautiful Wednesday!

This morning as the rained poured down, we continued to learn the Daily 5, and the students were introduced to Work on Writing.

We discussed slow land changes in Science and discussed erosion, weathering, and glaciers.

In Math, we learned a different way to multiply by finding a Distributive Property before finding the product.

In Reading, we worked on building our Read to Self Stamina, checked for understanding, and practiced Read to Self. We began the Journeys story about Michael Jordan.

For Social Studies, we got to identify rights and responsibilities, as well as how to resolve conflicts.

HOMEWORK:
1) Reading Log
2) Math p. 57
3) Science p. 223

IMPORTANT NOTICES:
- no spelling test this week
- Lunch Fee permission slip has been handed out, please return with the money by Monday
- New Electives - please return your elective choices by tomorrow
- AND, your child has also brought home a newsletter regarding the Sports Day/Family Lunch

Tomorrow is Thursday so remember to bring your Library card and return your books.

Have a splendid evening and enjoy this beautiful January weather (it's -16 degrees and snow at my parents').
