Nov. 11, 2015

Good evening everybody!

Today was our busiest day in the homeroom this week.
  • Language Arts - explained the purpose of letters and the difference between a friendly and business letter
  • Science - described terrestrial (land) environments. Students worked in small groups and presented what they know about the grassland, forest, rain forest, and desert environments
  • Math -  made a bar graph to represent data
  • Reading and Phonics -  blended and read words with 3 letter clusters, and practiced for the Language Festival
  • Social Studies - continued from yesterday's lesson and analyzed the effects of having a city along a waterway.
  • ECA - began the garden work for Community Service Week

HOMEWORK:
- Math p. 40
- Cursive writing practice - Please write 3 sentences about what you learned in ECA (gardening) or what we will do in the garden this year.
- Review Social Studies - you can read p. 160-165 and use it as your Reading Log entry

NOTICES:
Please return the newsletter tomorrow indicating your attendance for the lunch on Family Day. Thank you.

Have a wonderful evening.
