Apr. 13, 2016

Rainy, rain, rain. Unlike the outdoors, it was not a gloomy day in the classroom today.

1) Language Arts/Reading - three rotations of the Daily 5 that included the focus lessons: drafting a story (students began to write their story), use possessive pronouns, Cafe menu - Use word parts to determine the meaning of words

Read to Someone -

2) Math quiz on Time

3) Science - reviewed physical properties of matter, measured volume and mass, discussed the Science Fair display board. Here's another example of what it could look like, but feel free to make it as you wish and move things around.

4) Social Studies - defined new vocabulary that related to how money is spent. We watched a short storybook and discussed the terms from the story.

HOMEWORK:
1) Eng. p. 110
2) Word Work - Letter Trail - Hide the spelling words among other random letters, and circle the spelling word. Here's an example: waoienvsadlyiwnvpleadedknnqousefullynpqm    (I cannot circle my words)

NOTICES:
- spelling test tomorrow
- library and music class tomorrow - bring your books, ID, and recorders

Have a great evening. Stay dry!
