Welcome to the weekend. I hope your week was as fun and entertaining as the Terrific 3rd Graders' was.
Here's what we did today, in a nutshell:
1) Spelling quiz, and Language Arts quiz. Ooooooh, tough start to the day, but they did great!
2) Science - continued to learn about the life cycle of a plant, the importance of pollination, and how plants need animals to help them reproduce. We also began an experiment and planted some beans.
3) Math - practiced regrouping ones to add numbers.
HOMEWORK:
1) New Spelling words:
beautiful, listen, country, continent, ocean, mountain, Wednesday, twenty, thirty, October
2) Math workbook p. 20
3) Science vocabulary - please write the definition for the following vocabulary words (refer to p. 92-94):
life cycle, flower, germinates, reproduce, pollen, pollination
NOTICES:
- Please, if you aren't already, let your child view the DOJO website and app from home. It will tell them how many points they have and what they can try to improve on. I see some monsters getting changed from time to time, and that's a fun thing to do. Thank you.
THINGS HANDED BACK TODAY:
a) Scholastic Book Club order forms - please take a look at the catalogue, and return the form on Monday
b) Spelling Test and Language Arts Quiz (please bring back)
c) Quarter 1 Exam Schedule and Study Sheets
d) Our first Newsletter of the year!
Have a great weekend everybody! Don't forget to enjoy the beautiful weather. I can feel it starting to get a little cooler outside now. Take care.
Mr. Yaremchuk
