Today was another terrific day with our Terrific Third Graders. Here's how our day unfolded:
Language Arts - students learned about commands and exclamations. It got a little loud at times in the classroom, but that meant the students were learning to use exclamations correctly. Yeah!
Science - a new project was introduced and explained. There will not be a Unit 2 exam, but in lieu of the exam, the students will show how they understand the design process by making a straw tower.
Math - we compared amounts of money.
Reading/Phonics - practiced the VCe rule, along with other long vowel sounds.
Social - students began planning the layout of their poster after they did a wonderful job researching information on the computer yesterday.
In ECA, we had the Grade 5 class join us for some reading buddy time.
HOMEWORK:
1) Journeys workbook p. 16 and 18
2) Spelling test sentences - choose 5 words and make a sentence of at least 6 words.
EXAM NOTICE:
The math chapter 3 quiz on Friday will be more of an oral exam using the toy money. I will sit with each student and they will answer questions on the material we learned in class. It will not be a big quiz because we have the Unit 1 test next Tuesday.
Have an awesome evening!
Mr. Y
