This morning we had assembly and had a small presentation from our middle school students about LEADERSHIP, and how they would like to be leaders for the school. Our student council was also announced.
In Social Studies and ECA, the students were given a research project on making a poster for a special celebration. They were handed the guidelines and rubric for assessment so they are aware of what is expected. The students made groups and chose a special holiday an ethnic group or community celebrates. They will make an advertisement poster for this holiday using information they will gather from research on the computer.
The holidays chosen were: Water Festival - Thailand, Hot Air Balloon Festival - USA, Yi Peng Lantern Festival - Thailand, Harbin Ice and Snow Festival - China.
In Math, we continued to practice working with money. Today we learned how to make change from a given amount.
In Reading, we reviewed the vocabulary words and began to read the new story "The Trial of Cardigan Jones."
HOMEWORK:
1) Math p. 15 (we will be completing p. 13-14 together in class)
2) Journeys p. 19
That's all folks!
Have a great evening.
Mr. Yaremchuk
