The students were rewarded today at lunch with a Pizza Party, and some other snacks. We started to watch the movie "Inside Out" and it's a pretty good one so far.
This morning we started off with the Spelling Test (please return the Spelling Booklet), and then worked with possessive plural nouns.
We began to learn about adaptations among living things in Science (one of my favorite topics to teach).
In Math, we reviewed how to subtract when we regroup ones and tens.
Today also marked the start of electives for quarter two. Once again, I will be doing outdoor games with upper elementary and middle school.
HOMEWORK:
- Math worksheet
- Reading Log worksheet (inside Reading Log folder)
- LA p. 33
Please note: I will start to slowly increase the number of words for the spelling tests until we gradually make it to 20. Also, the spelling words will now come from a combination of commonly misspelled words taken from students' homework, vocabulary words, and Spelling Bee words.
NOTICES:
- Field Trip on Thursday the 22nd (students will need to bring their national health insurance card).
- All Saints Day will be in exactly 2 weeks, on October 30th. Students are invited to dress up in a costume during lunch time and there will be various activities planned for the afternoon (more details to come closer to the day). Just a reminder that scary or violent costumes ARE NOT allowed. If you are unsure if your child's costume is appropriate, please send me a message.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Mr. Yaremchuk
