Oct. 29, 2015

 Good evening!

All Saints Day is almost here!! I hope everyone has their costume ready to go, and their "Trick or Treat" song memorized so we can all get some candy!

This morning in Language Arts and Reading, we completed some Halloween writing activities. One activity was to write the ending to a haunted house story. Some students read their story out loud. We had some really good ideas in the stories.
In Science, we continued to learn about behavioral adaptations and took a closer look at hibernation.
For Math, the students were given their take home Unit 2 exam on Addition and Subtraction. The directions were explained, and questions answered, but if you need clarification on anything, please send me a message. Parents, you may help your child if they require assistance. This exam will be due on Tuesday.

HOMEWORK:
1) Cursive worksheet
2) Spelling Test tomorrow
3) Math Exam (due on Tuesday, 5% deduction for each day it is late)

REMINDERS:
- Please return the quizzes when you are finished with them (Language Arts, Math, and Reading).
- no school for students on Monday (Professional Development Day for teachers)

- Tomorrow is All Saints Day!!!

We will have classes in the morning. Here is the itinerary for tomorrow afternoon to celebrate All Saints Day.

·         12:45-1:15: Change into our costumes
·         1:15-2:15: Classroom games: (20 mins in each Grade 1, 2, and 3 classroom)
·         2:15-2:30: Break
·         2:30-3:15: Classroom activities (movie, candy, fun worksheets)
·         3:20-3:50: Parade and Pictures. Parents may arrive at 3:15pm to help with any final touches with costumes (face paint, hair, etc.).
Parade Route: We will start in the covered area, and go around the school. You are welcomed and encouraged to come watch, cheer us on, and take pictures. A few good viewing spots would be the grassy areas outside of the gym or the office. We will finish our parade on the stage in front of the track, when we separate for class and individual pictures.

Please remember your costume!!

Have a great evening!

Mr. Yaremchuk
