Oct. 8, 2015

Well, the short school week has come to an end.
We had a very busy morning and we began by talking about our upcoming weekend.
We also learned about singular and plural nouns, and the students searched for plural nouns in a story book. In Science, we continued to learn about life cycles of living things, with a focus on frogs.
We have completed the chapter of addition in Math, and rather than giving a quiz, the students are working on a project. They each have a map of Taiwan and will plan a family vacation on the map, and find the total distance traveled during the vacation. They were hard at work on this project.

In the afternoon, the students were busy with Sister Heart, as the home room teachers were busy preparing the classroom, and planning for Quarter 2.

HOMEWORK:
  1. Reading logs as usual (next week they will start to count towards a homework grade again, with the weekend counting towards the first day). Let's try to R.E.D. this second quarter, please.
  2.  English p. 25
Spelling Test new words: scrambled, September, ragged, Saturday, umbrella, continued, ancestor, history, collect, estimate

I hope you all have a great long weekend. Safe travels. Happy 10/10!

Mr. Yaremchuk
